Addictive Personality?

As I was sitting here, LICKING my bowl of triffle clean, and thought “oh, I am soo addicted to sweets”.  Chocolate, in particular (as is with most) is a weakness of mine.  Throughout my life I have been plagued by many addictions.  Dessert is a big one, going back as far as I can remember.  I have been addicted to gum, most diet drinks (except Tab and Diet Coke, I leave those to my mom), including but not limited to diet Pepsi (from 2004 to Nov. 2005)and diet Dr. Pepper (for about 6 months before I got pregnant with Hali).  I have kicked the soda habit.  I have a soda, or pop or coke or soda water or soda pop (depending on where you are from) maybe once or twice a month.  But dessert, well, I GOTTA HAVE IT!

I have also found myself addicted to many televison shows/series.  I was addicted to The Nanny(yes, the voice is annoying but its so funny), Friends(original, I know, but I was addicted to it starting in junior high- so the very beginning), one of the Paradise Hotel ( super trashy), The O.C.(yes, I was probably too old for it, but I stopped after the 2nd season), LOST (OMG! What is going on- I haven’t seen it in months!), Dancing With the Stars (both seasons so far- and I soo called Drew on the last one), Law and Order SVU (its sick, but gives you an idea of whats out there), and a whole plethora of shows on TLC and HGTV (yes, I’m one of those).

Reading is a passion of mine, but not “the greats”.  Oh, no- I like beach trash/harliquin novels a little too much.  My hubby and I call them book porn.  I have read A LOT of Nora Roberts and reread the ones that I own numerous times. The gross details of Patricia Cornwall books enthrall me.  I have read and reread the  Earth’s Children series by Jean M. Auel.  I just bought the newest Anita Stansfield book and cried over it as I read it not once, not twice, but three times.  And now, for my all time favorite series, The One that I am a crazed maniac when it comes to them, the movies, interviews, news of, fan fics, you name it…..

HARRY POTTER!!! Ya, baby!  I love this “children’s series” beyond reason.  It consumes me.  I started reading the series in high school (yes, I was one of the few teenagers who read for pleasure) and each time a new one has been released I nearly wet myself in excitement.  Unfortunatly there is only one more to be release, book seven on July 7, 2007.  Its not a coincidence.  The movies also inspire a freakish excitement in me.  As soon as a nw preview or clip becomes available, I am all over it.  Now, I do NOT want to hear any of those “its the devil, its witchcraft and wiccan and blah blah blah” business.   I LOVE HARRY POTTER END OF STORY!

And since about February or so I a addicted to blogging.  I think about mine all day.  I lust after the high volume of readers some of the blogs that I read get.  Then I am grateful to the ones that actually read mine; when I got coments from MiMi and Loralee(I love comment whores too and am a self proclaimed one as well) I ran and told my husband, I could not contain my excitement.  Their’s are just two of the many that I have bookmarked and read daily.  The very first blog I read daily was VeryMom, and I am so sad because she is “taking a break” for a while and I will miss her.  I also read these daily, hoping for new posts: Redneck Mommy, Motherhood Uncensored, and Adventures in Parenthood,  Not to mention all the “mommy sites like dotmoms, mommy bloggers, mamazine, and clubmom that I frequently check up on.  So that just took forever to do all that linkage!  Whew!  I am going to get in the shower.

  1. I dunno whats up, I just realized how hard these past few entries are to read and they WERE paragraphed when I when I wrote them, and I spent forever making all these links and now they arent showing up….

  2. Heh. I understand the addictive personality. I’ve done about three posts with lists about my rotating obsessions. It’s titled, “I’ve taken interest, you will now PAY”. I was so excited when my first stranger commented on my blog, I did just about the same thing you did. It’s a great way to spend your time. 😀
